Bianca Walkden was the only GB medal winner in the last World Grand Prix of the season, taking a silver medal after losing in the final to China’s Shuyin Zheng, repeating the result of the previous final in Manchester.
“I did a lot better than Manchester but the score doesn’t reflect how close the fight was,” Walkden told GB Taekwondo. “So, I can only learn from it."
“I did well at the beginning and put a lot of pressure on. But I made a few mistakes at the end which cost me the match.”
Last year’s overall Grand Prix champion Bianca, finishes the 2018 series with three silvers and a bronze, and she's set her sights on a world title in 2019.
“At the end of the day I would give up every Grand Prix for me to win the world title again in May.
“As long as I get gold there that’s what ultimately matters.” She added.
Walkden will next compete at the World Grand Slam tournament in Wuxi, China. A competition she won last year, claiming a massive cash prize of over £50,000.
Olympic Champion Jade Jones made a surprise exit against Croatia’a Nikita Glasnovic at the quarter final stage.
Mahama Cho and Bradley Sinden also made their way to the quarter finals before bowing out, whilst Manchester Grand Prix winner Lauren Williams tasted defeat in the round of 16.
