Elijah Everill wants his winning form to continue for the entire year
Elijah Everill came into 2019 as the man to beat, and he did not disappoint with a clean sweep of titles at the recent Golden Glove WAKO European Cup.
He traveled to Italy early to deliver one of his popular seminar's, before taking on what he describes as one of the events of the year.
"I had such a fantastic time as always in Italy last week, I flew out to Venice on the Wednesday before the tournament to teach a full night of classes at Raffaele Di Paolo & Luca Terrin’s gym (the promoters of Golden Glove).
"On Friday, I traveled to Conegliano, the city that the Golden Glove tournament takes place, as usual it was a great event.
"It’s actually always one of my favourite events of the whole year."
The Allstar's fighter was showing irresistible form to claim two Gold medals on the first day of fighting.
"I managed to win the Light Contact -74kg division having some tough fights against good opposition. I then partnered up with Ritchie Veres of the Kiraly team and we managed to take the win in the tag team event."
Even for a multiple world champion at various weights and disciplines, it was a busy second day of fighting.
"On Sunday, I had so many fights, I think I may have lost count." He continued.
"I was literally jumping from tatami to tatami and fighting champion after champion. Tough competitors like Ritchie Veres, Mark McDermott and Toli Kuschnir to name a few.
"Obviously it turned out to be a really successful day where I won both of my individual divisions (PF -74,79) and also the prestigious open weight title.
"It’s great to start out 2019 on a victory and hopefully this can continue on for the rest of the year. Next stop Athens Challenge."
