An Elijah Everill inspired Team GB took a magnificent team Gold medal at the WAKO Point Fighting World Championships in Turkey, along with two individual Golds and two Bronze medals.
Everill is currently the form point fighter anywhere in the world and was in dominant mood at these championships.
In his -74KG division, his record was almost unbelievable, with early bout stoppages for 10 clear points in the Quarter Final (10-0 vs Mexican Santiago Forastieri) and Semi Final (13-3 vs Hungarian Tamas Korpadi). Before once again going 10 clear in the World Championship final with a 17-7 victory over Italian Simone De Vita to take the Gold medal.
Heavyweight Points Fighter Chris Aston was also displaying his dominance at +94KG. He took '10 clear' stoppage victories over Russian Aleksandr Glushkov and Greek competitor Viktoras Gekilis before claiming the Gold medal with a convincing 16-9 win over Italian Paolo Niceford.
Sami Jassim added a Bronze medal in the -69KG division,he lost out at the semi final stage to Hungarian Richard Veres. Molly Hershaw dramatically claimed her Bronze by a single point, defeating Dilek Dumanli from Turkey.
In the team event. the victorious GB team came against and defeated challenges from Russia, Austria and Greece before edging a close contest with Hungary to win an amazing Gold medal.
