GB Judo have named their provisional team for the 2018 World Judo Championships. Taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan in September.
Included are Nekoda Smythe-Davis and Natalie Powell who both won bronze medals at the 2017 Championships. In total, the team includes a total of six World and European medallists.
The team is headlined by Rio 2016 bronze medallist Sally Conway (-70kg) who has been in spectacular form, winning gold at the Paris Grand Slam and silver at the European Championships.
Alice Schlesinger (-63kg) and Sarah Adlington (78kg) have both earned selection after displaying impressive form in 2017, both winning Grand Prix medals, and Schlesinger also finishing fifth at the European championships.
Ashley McKenzie is the only male competitor in the first round of selections, he's taken bronze grand slam and European medals since the Olympics of 2016.
The final team for the 2018 World Judo Championships will be announced w/c 20 August.
