Compatriots and rivals Michael Page and Paul Daley clashed in a much anticipated match up at Bellator 216, with Michael 'Venom' Page taking the victory via the judges decision.
The fight was two years in the making, but left fans feeling dissapointed after Paul Daley chose a more tactical gameplan to try and stifle the incredible striking range of Page.
Despite Daley's surprising approach, Kickboxer Michael Page extended his winning run to now record 14-0 in professional MMA.
Daley later took to social media to declare he felt the judges were wrong in their decision:
“I’m disappointed, MMA politics and Bellator protecting their investment,” Daley wrote.
“I feel I won three rounds to two. IMO I beat that fool. Really. Close fight. It’s just sad MMA is going the way of boxing. I’m a ‘striker’ who wrestled so I lose, and the fool they pumped money into wins.
Although it wasn't the spectacular KO fans were hoping for, it remains an impressive victory for Page who continues his rise through the MMA ranks.
