Cory Cook adds Pointfighting Cup senior title to honours list

April 5, 2019

Fighters last week descended on Milan in Italy for the prestigious Pointfighting Cup, where regular winners Cory Cook, Elijah Everill and Chris Aston all claimed their respective titles.

The competition is one of many international kickboxing / sport karate events attracting some of the best point fighting talent in the world.

Elijah Everill continues to set the standard for the UK cohort, after claiming Gold in both the -75kg and -79kg divisions. He made his way to the final of a packed -75 category to defeat home fighter Simone De Vita.

Moving up a weight, Hungarian Alex Veres was the latest victim of Everill's dominant run of form. The team allstars fighter also made his way to the final of the Grand Championship before losing the Gold medal match to German Toli Kushcnir.

Chris Aston, now representing the Kiraly Team, was also on the Grand Championship podium, taking third after losing out to compatriot Elijah Everill at the semi final stage. He did claim his divisional title though, defeating Paulo Niceforo from Italy in the final.

Rising star Cory Cook delivered on his promise to add more senior titles to his long list of honours, he was victorious over Russian Grigory Langavy in the Mens -63kg section.

Bethany Jones from CMA Freestyle added a further Bronze medal to the GB haul. She lost out at the Semi Final stage to eventual winner, Italian Carol Saachi.
