Olympian Sally Conway has become the first British winner of the Paris Grand Slam since 2003, taking the under 70kg title by beating Chizuru Arai, the current World Champion.

Aria, the world number one from Japan, was beaten with an ippon 20 seconds from the end. Olympic bronze medalist Conway had to come through tough encounters with Melissa Heleine, Anna Bernholm, Maria Perez and world #3 Marie Eve Gahie to progress.

Natalie Powell could only finish as high as seventh in the under 78kg section, although GB's medal haul was increased on the Saturday by Ashley Mckenzie and Nekoda Smyth-Davies who both won Bronze.
